VPHA Study Tours

The VPHA has been organising Study Tours for its membership since the mid-1990s. During that time we have visited: France, Spain, Irish Republic, Poland, Croatia, Ukraine, Macedonia, Serbia, Hungary and Austria…so far!

The purpose of the Tour to any particular country is to inform VPHA members about the standards of both Veterinary Public Health and Animal Welfare and to engage with both FBO’s and fellow professionals in order to be informed as to how they operate in their country.

During the study tours, premises visited include abattoirs, cutting plants, processing facilities, farms, veterinary colleges and government offices. Presentations are given and received by both VPHA representatives and representatives from the host country outlining how regulatory and inspection duties are carried out.

In addition, receptions and dinners are arranged with our hosts and visits to other places of interest organised where appropriate. Package prices for VPHA Members are usually very affordable and offer excellent high value CPD.

The next planned Study Tour is currently being arranged for Romania in October.

We urgently need an idea of numbers to book accommodation and transport.

We will have to buy our own flights/transport to Romania, and until we have prospective numbers we cannot quote for accommodation or tour costs.

You may wish to extend your stay so adjust your flight details accordingly, we will arrange hotels and meals only for the study tour dates.
