Although many VPHA members are, in their daily roles, predominantly concerned with the public health and welfare of animals for human consumption (OVs, Government Vets, Industry Vets etc.) we are also active via VPHA Council in the relevant areas of welfare for companion animals and exotics, licencing of dog breeding establishments, legal counsel and expert witnesses on animal welfare cases, as just a few other examples.
(VPHA Past president and Animal Welfare Rep, Collin Willson {Competent Authority} and Current President Gavin Morris {Industry}).
There are a wide range of excellent resources to support VPH vets and we have given a few useful links below particularly aimed for VPH vets who are involved throughout food production supply chains from animal welfare on-farm, at markets, in transport and at slaughter.
